My name is Justin Locsei, and More Monks Than Reason is my one-man musical project. I began this project back in 2003 as an experiment in songcraft to see if I could write music, or if I would be limited to playing power chords to brit rock for the rest of my life. It turned out that composition was not beyond me, and, after a few months of comically simple songs, I began making music that did not require limitless patience or indulgence to listen to.

All of my work is instrumental, and is influenced to various degrees by such genres as post-rock, ambient, melodic death metal, experimental and electronica. My compositions are generally quite dense, and weave together electric and acoustic guitars, bass, piano, orchestral samples and weird noise into something listenable (generally) and pleasant (hopefully). However, since I write music instead of descriptions of music, you could just download a song or two and see what you think.
